Plumbing and heating in Guildford homes
Guildford has everything from medieval and Georgian buildings in the town centre to post-war estates and large country houses. We plan each job around the type of property.
Period homes in the town centre and Stoke
Victorian and Edwardian terraces around Stoke, Charlotteville and the town centre often have older pipework, small boiler cupboards and awkward flue routes. Flue position matters a lot in these streets, as many are close to neighbours' windows and boundaries. Our guide to boiler flue regulations explains the rules. Where a building is listed or in a conservation area we keep visible pipework and flues as discreet as possible.
1930s to 1960s homes in Merrow, Burpham and Stoughton
Many semis and bungalows in these areas still have a regular boiler with tanks in the loft. A combi conversion is a popular upgrade, but if you have two bathrooms or a large family a system boiler with a cylinder may suit you better. We will look at your water pressure and flow before recommending anything.
Student lets and rented homes
There are a lot of rented homes in GU2 near the university. Landlords need a Gas Safety Certificate every year and the heating has to be kept in good order. We can do the certificate and the boiler service in one visit and send the paperwork straight to you or your letting agent.
Village and rural homes
Some homes in the villages to the south and west are off the gas grid and run on LPG or oil. We service and repair LPG boilers, and we can talk you through options such as heat pumps if you are thinking about a change. See heat pumps vs gas boilers.
Boilers in Guildford
Whether you need a new boiler or a fault fixed, we offer the same fixed prices and warranties in Guildford as everywhere else we work. As Ideal approved and MAX accredited installers, we can give Guildford customers warranties of up to 12 years on new Ideal boilers.
