Underfloor Heating Installation in Surrey
Underfloor heating is one of the most efficient ways to heat your home. It runs at lower temperatures than radiators, which means your boiler works less and your gas bills come down - by up to 40%.
How does underfloor heating work?
Warm water is pumped through a network of pipes laid beneath the floor. The heat rises evenly across the room, so there are no cold spots and no radiators taking up wall space. The system runs at lower temperatures than traditional radiators, which means your boiler is more efficient.
Wet vs electric systems
We mainly fit wet (hydronic) systems, which are connected to your boiler and are cheaper to run long-term. Electric systems are easier to retrofit in single rooms but cost more to run. We'll advise which is best for your situation.
What does installation involve?
For a new build or extension, the pipes are laid before the screed goes down. For a retrofit, we can use low-profile systems that add as little as 15mm to the floor height. Installation for a typical room takes 1-2 days.
How much does it cost?
A wet underfloor heating system typically costs £40-£60 per square metre installed, depending on the floor type and access. That includes the pipes, manifold, controls, and labour. The long-term savings on gas bills usually pay back the investment within a few years.
